I'll admit it... Few things in the console gaming industry excite me but the Nintendo Wii and it's spatially oriented controllers have me all fired up.

I demoed the Excite Truck game and was absolutely enamored with it.

What do you folks think?

Well let me put it to you this way, I don't even have one yet but I already bought the Zelda Twilight Princess game ;-)

Hoping to be able to get one soon. Love the idea of actually being able to "point" at your target with the nunchuck controler instead of first spacially orient yourself THEN stabilize and aim the gun.

You know Tim... Good 1st-person shooter gamers can just move and fire simultaneously :p

Depends on the game, but in Medal Of Honor and a couple James Bond titles I have you need to do both on the game cube version anyway ;-)

UPDATE!!!!

I GOT ONE!!!!!

The system is so small and sleek, the interface incredible and performance excellent.

The graphics are outstanding -- Link has never looked so good!

Only negatives I can see: The wire connecting the remote sensor is a lot smaller than I'd like. I can be carefull but some families with kids may end up replacing theirs (only $10 from shop.nintendo.com but still :-/ ).

ONLY ONE slot for an SD Card (has two spots for GameCube memory cards and 4 controler ports like the Cube). Could be problematic if you want to move game saves or downloaded games from one card to the other. I have a one GB card though so that wont be an issue for a while yet.

Wii Sports -- I was expecting this to be a dud bit it's suprisingly addictive -- especially the bowling one ;-)

The version of InterWorx which is now called 3.0 was originally meant to be released at HostingCon in July -- Unfortunately that was an overly-optimisitic estemate. :-( An excellent example of why we don't like to give release dates/deadlines.

That being said there have been issues behind the scenes which I am not at liberty to discuss which have delayed development, on top of the fact that this is a significant revision of the software. You've seen the feature list we published, but there has also been many other minor refinements (some you will be able to see in the interface, others under the hood that you wont) in this release.

Trust me, it'll be worth the wait :-D

I could almost figure out that there's been some "drama", and of course I won't ask for information regarding this in public.

I do hope that it'll come THIS month.. "or else" ;)

More like contractual oblications and support needs which took the developer's time.

I completely sympathize. I won't give my customers a release date either as I agree that nothing should be rushed and long waits are worth it even if you lose the odd customer. The new version will bring in 10 fold..... We hope. :)

I've got

* Wii Sports (came with the system -- expected it to be a throwaway game but it's not)
* Zelda Twilight Princess (and strategy guide)
* Need For Speed Carbon
* Call of Duty 3
* Excite Truck
* Wario Ware

Zelda is awesome but I haven't really spent much time with it yet

The games I spend most of my time with are Wii Sports Bowling and Excite Trick. Excite Trick is awesome as you get POINTS for taking out other drivers and crashing your truck ;-)
