iPhone?

Just wondering what techy people on this forum thought of the iPhone.

At one point I actually wanted one, but the closer it got to release the less impressed I was. Maybe revision 2 will be a better buy.

A friend of mine that has a high position over at one of Sweden's telcos got his hands on an iPhone and his words are basically that this is the defining product from Apple and that despite the lack of UMTS, MMS and a subpar camera it will still re-define how people think of and use mobile-phones.

Myself I am not that impressed, though I like the "out of the box", where all functions are "go" without a million settings having to be made.

A co-worker of mine got one and after playing with it for about half an hour last weekend, I'd gladly throw my Dashe with Windows Mobile 6 under a big truck if I could switch... but can't swing the purchase price AND getting hit with a charge for switching before my contract is up.

I wouldn't mind one but I will wait for a future release and until they are ported over to other carriers (hopefully that will happen someday). I had a bad experience with Cingular a few years ago and just refuse to go back.
