Generate an API Key (NodeWorx, SiteWorx, and Reseller)

API stands for Application Programming Interface. With an API Key web hosting companies and resellers can integrate basic functionality into third party billing software such as ModernBill and ClientExec.

Let us give you an example to put this in terms that are easier to understand. When a web hosting company using Modernbill(tm) integrates it with InterWorx-CP, it can automatically create the customer’s account on the server, and send out a welcome mail when payment has been received. If the client becomes delinquent, it can automatically suspend the account. If the client cancels or is in default for a set period of time, it can automatically cancel the account on the server with or without user interaction.

An API Key is a block of nonsense looking text which serves as a password to remotely access the under the hood functionality of InterWorx-CP.

The InterWorx API key has the following functionality:

• Create SiteWorx Account
• Delete SiteWorx Account
• Suspend (deactivate) SiteWorx Account
• Un-Suspend (activate) SiteWorx Account.

As of this writing, the following billing portals will integrate with InterWorx-CP:

• AWBS (formerly DramsPlus) -- http://www.dramsystems.com
• Whois.Cart() -- http://whoiscart.net
• Clientexec -- http://www.clientexec.com
• Ubersmith -- http://www.ubersmith.com
