How to Change the Advertised DNS IP for an IP Address

Prerequisites

Last Updated for InterWorx-CP version 3.0.1

You must have internal/non-routable IP address(es) on the InterWorx-CP server. If you do not have these, changing the advertised DNS for a specific IP address will not be possible.

Purpose

This procedures will detail how to change an the advertised DNS IP for an IP address.

Procedure - Change the Advertised DNS IP for an IP Address

  1. Click on the Server menu if it is not already expanded.
  2. Click on the ♦    IP Management item.
  3. You should now be looking at the IP Management controls in the main content area.
  4. Locate the IP Address section.
  5. In the External IP (for DNS) column, find the field next to the IP address you wish to advertise dns for.
  6. Type in the IP adress you wish to advertise to the DNS system.
  7. Select Commit Changes ... from the drop-down list at the bottom of the table.
  8. You will see the following message at the top of the screen: » External IP set successfully : exampleIPAddr1 => exampleIPAddr2.
