Procedure - Add DNS Listening Server

The following are to be performed on the Server who’s DNS Zones will be listened to

  1. Click on the System Services menu if it is not already expanded.
  2. Click on the ♦    DNS Server submenu if it is not already expanded.
  3. Click on the      ◊    Synchronization item.
  4. You should now be looking at the DNS Management :: Synchronization controls in the main content area.
  5. Enter the hostname or IP address of the InterWorx-CP server that will be Listening to and publishing this server’s DNS Zones in the hostname field.
  6. Enter the API key from the previous procedure into the API Key field.
  7. It is recommended that you test your setup using the Test button. Doing a pre-addition test weeds out 90% of Node addition errors that can occur.
  8. After a successful test run (denoted by the message: >> DNS host passed all pre DNS-sync tests : hostname) press the Add button to complete the DNS Listener addition.
  9. The add will return with either: >> Node added successfully or an error regarding what happened.
