How To Add or Delete a Blacklisted E-mail Address

Purpose

The following procedures explain how to add or a delete an e-mail address or domain to the SMTP level blacklist.

Procedure - Add a Blacklisted E-mail Address

  1. Click on the System Services menu if it is not already expanded.
  2. Click on the ♦    Mail Server submenu if it is not already expanded.
  3. Click on the      ◊    MTA Settings item.
  4. You should now be looking at the Mail Server Management :: MTA controls in the main content area.
  5. Locate the MTA SMTP Options (inbound) section.
  6. In the MTA Level E-mail Address Blacklist field, enter one email address per line. You can also add entire domains simply by entering @domain-you-want-toblacklist on one line.
  7. Click the Update button in the MTA Level E-mail Address Blacklist section.
  8. You will see the following set of messages at the top of the screen:
    » MTA server config settings updated successfully
    » Service successfully restarted

 Adding an email address or domain to the SMTP level blacklist will cause any email from the email address or domain to be rejected and not forwarded to the MDA.

Procedure - Delete a Blacklisted E-mail Address

  1. Click on the System Services menu if it is not already expanded.
  2. Click on the ♦    Mail Server submenu if it is not already expanded.
  3. Click on the      ◊    MTA Settings item.
  4. You should now be looking at the Mail Server Management :: MTA controls in the main content area.
  5. Locate the MTA SMTP Options (inbound) section.
  6. In the MTA Level E-mail Address Blacklist field, delete the e-mail address or domain you wish to remove from the blacklist.
  7. Click the Update button in the MTA Level E-mail Address Blacklist section.
  8. You will see the following set of messages at the top of the screen:
    » MTA server config settings updated successfully
    » Service successfully restarted
