How To Stop and Start ClamAV

The stop and start procedures that follow assume that SMTP virus scanning is enabled. For more information on enabling SMTP virus scanning check out How to Enable SMTP Virus Scanning.
Purpose
The following procedures explain how to use InterWorx-CP to stop and start ClamAV.
Procedure - Stop the ClamAV Service
- Click on the menu if it is not already expanded.
- Click on the submenu if it is not already expanded.
- Click on the ◊ Virus Filtering item.
- You should now be looking at the Mail Server Management :: Virus Filter Settings controls in the main content area.
- Locate the ClamAV Control section.
- Click the button.
- You will see the following message at the top of the screen: » Service successfully stopped.
| If you have SMTP virus scanning enabled and you stop the ClamAV service, mail delivery will stop until the ClamAV service is restarted or SMTP virus scanning is disabled. |
Procedure - Start the ClamAV Service
- Click on the menu if it is not already expanded.
- Click on the submenu if it is not already expanded.
- Click on the ◊ Virus Filtering item.
- You should now be looking at the Mail Server Management :: Virus Filter Settings controls in the main content area.
- Locate the ClamAV Control section.
- Click the button.
- You will see the following message at the top of the screen: » Service successfully started.
