How to delete a .htaccess file
Prerequisites
Last Updated for InterWorx-CP version 3.0.1
An existing SiteWorx account. At least one .htaccess file.
Purpose
.htaccess files can be deleted via the SiteWorx interface.
Procedure - Delete the domain wide .htaccess file
- Click on the menu if it is not already expanded.
- Click on the ♦ Directory Options item.
- You should now be looking at the Directory Options Management controls in the main content area.
- Locate the Global Directory Options section.
- Click the button.
- You will see a confirmation page. Click the button to confirm.
- You will see the following message at the top of the screen: » The .htaccess file was deleted: directory.
Procedure - Delete a directory specific .htaccess file
- Click on the menu if it is not already expanded.
- Click on the ♦ Directory Options item.
- You should now be looking at the Directory Options Management controls in the main content area.
- Locate the Per Directory Options section.
- Click the checkbox next to the directory or directories you want to delete the .htaccess file from.
- Using the drop down at the bottom of the list of directories, select “Delete ...”.
- You will see a confirmation page. Click the button to confirm.
- You will see the following message at the top of the screen: » The .htaccess file was deleted: directory.
