One of InterWorx Control Panel's advantages over other panels is that the developers have not set out to "reinvent the wheel". When they have found an open source tool (or an inexpensive commercial one) which performs a task well, they have simply integrated the existing tool rather than rewrite one from scratch.

Built upon the many open source tools within the Linux operating system, InterWorx Control Panel runs its own instance of Apache, MySQL, and PHP to run the panel so that you can upgrade/modify the main system ones and not break the control panel. Our themes are written with Smarty and our graphs are generated using rrdtool.
