One of InterWorx-CP's advantages over other panels is that the developers have not set out to "reinvent the wheel" so to speak. When they have found an open source tool (or inexpensive commercial ones) which performs a task well they have simply integrated the existing tool rather than rewrite one from scratch.
Built upon the many open source tools within the Linux operating system, InterWorx-CP runs its own instance of apache, MySQL, and PHP to run the panel so that you can upgrade/modify the main system ones and not break the control panel. Our themes are written with Smarty and our graphs generated using rrdtool.
InterWorx-CP chose the industry standard Apache 2 web server, DJBDNS Tiny DNS server, Qmail with Vpopmail mail servers, MySQL database server, and ProFTP FTP server to run its web services for their compatibility, security, and customizability.
Viruses and SPAM are both nuisances and threats in today's Internet, more so than ever before. InterWorx-CP has integrated ClamAV's Simscan to scan email for viruses and SpamAssassin to help manage SPAM.
Database Management is an important aspect of today's web hosting, particularly due to the prevalence of database driven website content. phpMyAdmin is the recognized standard here, so it has been fully integrated into both SiteWorx and NodeWorx.
Everyone has different opinions and needs when it comes to website statistics, so InterWorx has integrated three popular statistics packages into SiteWorx: Webalizer, AWStats, and Analog Stats. Additionally Realtime stats are provided through the use of RRD graphs in both SiteWorx and NodeWorx.
Through our licensing agreement with Gossamer Threads, InterWorx is able to offer their powerful Filaman file manager, which we have integrated into SiteWorx, completely free with every license.
