InterWorx: InterWorx includes R1Soft/Idera integration, but there are many other backup options out there. For example, DropMySite/DropMyEmail has expressed interest in creating an InterWorx plugin -- for more info on it, see their guest blog post.

  1. swgr25: Robert, you might want to look into Percona xtraBackup? It's free and supports hot backup of SQL db

  2. swgr25: The other one I know of (well two) is the Bacula4hosts and Vembu. Vembu currently don't have an Interworx plugin though. To be honest rather than paying for these we rolled out own that basically rsyncs the user data to a remote server (whole users /home dir). Does a dump of Iworx SQL and Structure and copies that into the remote server via rsync. Using nice along with the rsync command means it runs trouble free in the background. Once that is done we use rsync snapshots to create a de duplicated copy. If we need to restore it's essentially just rsync data back, import SQL from tar.gz file and whatnot. If the whole siteworx needs restoring on a new server we restore first the structure and SQL via CLI command to Interworx API and then rsync /home dir back. This essentially works very well and doesn't use much disk space. However, it would be kinda nice if Interworx could use the same script to do it from the GUI. Maybe one could write a plugin I don't know but basically what I'm saying is it is perfectly possible. Only nice thing r1soft, percona and Vembu have is MySQL online backup which is a bit niceer than the SQL dump solution.

  3. Jeremy Snyder: This is Jeremy from DropMySite. While we use scp / sftp for our backups, we do run an rsync-type process to look for differential changes, so the backups are incremental and we reduce the backup size (both transfer & storage) substantially.

  4. Róbert Nagy: Maybe support for other backup methods than FTP,SCP. Duply support would be awesome. It can create incremental backups, so save a lot of disk space on files. (Maybe a solution for incremental MySQL backup)
