InterWorx: Currently, InterWorx supports Apache and Litespeed. Nginx continues to grow in popularity, and may perform better for certain types of hosting.

  2. Lakshmish: It would be great if we can install Nginx as a Reverse Proxy on InterWorx as we are using in cpanel via plugin from Nginxcp.com

  3. Victor: Nagy Róbert We think to use Nginx as a caching proxy server, as it is done in ISPmanager for example:
    server {
    	server_name site.com;
    	charset utf-8;
    	disable_symlinks if_not_owner from=$root_path;
    	listen IP:80;
    	include /etc/nginx/vhosts-includes/*;
    	set $root_path /var/www/USER/data/www/site.com;
    	location / {
    		root $root_path;
    		access_log .... ;
    		error_log .... notice;
    		location ~ [^/]\.ph(p\d*|tml)$ {
    			try_files /does_not_exists @fallback;
    		}
    		location ~* ^.+\.(jpg|jpeg|gif|png|svg|js|css|mp3|ogg|mpe?g|avi|zip|gz|bz2?|rar|swf)$ {
    		}
    		location / {
    			try_files /does_not_exists @fallback;
    		}
    	}
    	location @fallback {
    		error_log off;
    		proxy_pass http://127.0.0.1:8080;
    		proxy_redirect http://127.0.0.1:8080 /;
    		proxy_set_header Host $host;
    		proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for;
    		proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-Proto $scheme;
    		proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-Secret eKhtQwUGdwgTEYfN;
    		access_log off ;
    	}
    }

  4. Victor: Possibly to make a linking of nginx+apache where nginx will be in a role a server cache for return static files (jpg, css, js, zip, etc better. )

      • Jason C: Interworx is on 5.1 now, and nginx still is not being used anywhere. Please let us enable/use nginx as a static content - either serving filetypes (.txt, .css, etc) or by serving all content on a subdomain (static.domain.com) that points to a subdirectory inside our web root.

  5. Nagy Róbert: With nginx, You need to support some extra settings in siteworx because of nginx does not support .htaccess files.

    • nadav buchman: not exactly .htaccess is not supported only when nginx is the web server however when it only does reverse proxy, eventually the apache server the pages and the php and only the static content will go out through nginx therefore .htaccess will act normally the only difference is that you can't use it to allow access from specific ips, since the request is coming from the server request (i.e deny from all, allow from ip...)
