  • Refresh Time – The amount of time in seconds between a successful check on the serial number on the zone of the primary DNS and the next attempted check.
  • Retry Time – The amount of time in seconds to wait before retrying a failed refresh attempt.
  • Expiration Time – The amount of time in seconds for refresh and retry attempts before the DNS server will stop serving the zone.
  • Minimum TTL – How often a DNS server checks back for changes to existing DNS records. This can be changed on a per A Record basis.
